Installing on your schedule
A planned installation gives you what an emergency does not: time. You can compare types, check the space, think about fuel and decide on a day that suits the household. Most of the cost surprises on this job come from decisions made in a hurry.
We install for homeowners upgrading, builders finishing a new house, and landlords updating a rental. The questions are the same in each case. What fuel is available, where will the heater sit and how much hot water does the house use?
Choosing the type of heater
| Type | Fits best when | Install considerations |
|---|---|---|
| Gas tank | A gas line is already in the house | Needs proper venting and a gas connection. |
| Electric tank | No gas, or a simple like-for-like swap | Needs the right breaker and wire size. |
| Tankless | You want on-demand hot water and have the supply | Needs gas or electrical capacity and venting. See tankless service. |
| Heat pump tank | There is open space with airflow | Needs clearance, a drain for condensate and power. |
We confirm what your plumbing, venting and power supply allow before you commit. A phone call cannot answer that, and we say so.
What a good installation includes
Parts of the job that matter
- A new shutoff valve on the cold supply so you can isolate the heater.
- A temperature and pressure relief valve with a discharge pipe run to a safe spot.
- A drain pan with a drain line where the heater sits above living space.
- An expansion tank where the plumbing needs one.
- Correct venting for gas units and the right wire and breaker for electric ones.
- A temperature set at a safe level, and a walk-through of the controls.

What affects the installation price
Factors that shape the price
- Type of unit
- Tank, tankless and heat pump models differ in equipment cost and in work required.
- Capacity
- Households with more people and fixtures need a larger tank or higher flow.
- Changing fuel or location
- Moving a heater or switching between gas and electric adds piping, venting or electrical work.
- Code updates
- A new install may need a pan, relief piping, an expansion tank or venting brought current.
- Access
- Attics and tight closets take longer than a garage or utility room.
You will have one clear number before we begin. If something changes on site, we explain it and you decide.

Permits, code and your Estero address
Estero homes and heater sizing
Many Estero houses went up between the late 1990s and the mid 2000s, and their original heaters often sit in a garage or an interior closet. Garage installs are usually simpler to reach. Interior closets need more care with venting and a drain pan.
Water supply matters too. Bonita Springs Utilities serves south of Williams Road and Lee County Utilities north of it, according to a Village of Estero water workshop document. Check your bill, then ask your utility about water hardness, since it affects how long a heater lasts.
Where we install
We install in the Village of Estero, Bonita Springs and San Carlos Park. If your current heater is acting up and you are not sure, start with water heater repair.

A like-for-like swap is usually a few hours. Changing fuel type, moving the unit or adding venting adds time. The plumber will give you an idea after checking the space.
Some homeowners do, but gas, venting, relief piping and permits are real risks. A mistake can leak, vent exhaust into the house or cause a scald. A licensed plumber handles it safely.
Often, yes, but rules vary. Ask the Village of Estero Community Development department, or Lee County if you are in an unincorporated area.
Not always. A tank that is too large wastes energy keeping water hot. We size to your household and fixtures.
Yes. Builders and owners call us to set heaters in new houses. Tell dispatch the fuel type and the plan for venting.
Yes. We disconnect and remove the old unit as part of the job.
We offer same-day appointments when available. For a planned install, calling a day or two ahead gives us time to bring the right unit.
